Armor is a game mechanic in most prominently used in Stick War II: Order Empire/Stick Empires and Stick War III. It modifies the damage a unit receives from attacks. Whether a unit is armored or not can be easily distinguished as when hit, an armored unit will make a clunking sound, compared to the fleshy sound made by an unarmored one.
Function[]
Each unit has a certain armor type, which dictate what types of attacks deal bonus damage against them, and sometimes what types of attacks do less.
In Stick War III, units that deal splash damage also apply armor-related bonus damage to units hit by the splash damage. Armor-based bonuses are applied after the splash damage multiplier when calculating damage. For example, the Riprider deals 13 base damage and 7 bonus against Heavy units, with 20% splash damage. This means Light units hit by the splash damage will receive 2.6 damage (rounded to 3 by in-game damage numbers), while Heavy units receive 9.6 (rounded to 10).

Structure[]
The original armor type introduced in Stick War. This armor type takes reduced damage from ranged attacks (70% reduction in Stick War: Legacy and 50% in Stick War III). This is also the only armor type present in Stick War and Stick War: Legacy.

Armoured/Heavy[]
Armoured (renamed Heavy in Stick War III) is an armor type introduced in Stick War II: Order Empire and used by many heavy combat units. Attacks hitting an armored unit will often produce a metallic clang. This armor type exists only in Stick War II, Stick Empires, and Stick War III.
Contrary to popular belief, Armoured units in Stick War II/Stick Empires do not inherently take reduced damage from certain attacks.

Unarmoured/Light[]
Unarmoured (renamed Light in Stick War III) is an armor type used by the majority of units. Attacks hitting an Unarmoured unit often yields a fleshy impact sound.
All units not mentioned above use Light armor.
