Spellcasters are units that primarily utilize magic in battle, as opposed to weaponry. They typically have weak melee attacks (if any) and low health, with their utility coming from their abilities.
In battle, most spellcasters will automatically stay out of melee range and keep some distance from frontline units. They will use basic attacks against enemies that get within range, but do not attempt to actively get into melee range with enemies when given an attack command. Cycloids and V do not share this behavior due to being a combination of melee combat unit and spellcaster, and will respond normally to attack commands.
In Stick War III, spellcasters are given the Magic attribute and have their own training queue. In addition, the following cards interact specifically with Magic units:
- Brilliance: Reduces Magic units' cost.
- Illuminate: Increases Magic units' movement speed for a short time.
