Charrog are rock-like creatures in the Elementals. During the events of Stick Empires, the Charrog were a heavy opponent on the battlefield, often used as a 'meat-shield' for other, more vulnerable Elemental units. They are the Elemental equivalents of Giants/Speartons/Juggerknights. A beefier version of the Charrog can be spawned by the tower upon researching Level 2 Tower Spawn.
Abilities[]
Burrow[]
When this ability is used, the Charrog burrows under the ground, making it untargetable and undetectable by enemies. The Charrog can move at reduced speed while burrowed.
Unburrow[]
Used only after Burrow; when this ability is used, the Charrog will shoot out from the ground, then slamming itself down, dealing 50 damage to surrounding units and stunning them for 2 seconds.
Radiant Heat[]
When this ability is used, the Charrog will glow red and burn all enemies around it for 0.1 damage per frame.
Strategies[]
Uses[]
- The Charrog is an excellent frontline tank and DPS unit, the high HP in combination with being an armoured unit makes it tough to kill, and the high attack speed alongside the bonus damage against armoured units make for a powerful attacker.
- The Burrow ability can be used to stun multiple enemies, and in rare situations can be used as a method of escape.
- The Radiant Heat ability can melt through the HP of cheaper units, such as Swordwrath or Archidon, and can soften the hp of slightly tankier units such as Magikill or Deads for an easier kill.
- The Charrog's excellence as a frontline unit allows it to protect weaker ranged/spellcaster units, such as fire/air elementals or Infernos from enemy projectiles.
- The Elemental Empire's Tower Spawn I summons a Charrog, making it the strongest and best value Tower Spawn I between all three empires.
- Charrog Spam can be very effective and difficult to defend against due to their lack of an inherent counter unit.
Counterplay[]
- The Elemental Empire has limited options when it comes to healing, as a sacrificial mass heal cannot efficiently heal Charrogs. When badly damaged they will be forced to retreat and garrison, so during the early-mid game, applying pressure to them may grant you an advantage.
- A well placed Poison Spray can present a problem for Charrogs and the units behind them, having 2 Magikill could allow you to work around sacrificial mass heals, Chaos players can achieve a similar effect using Deads.
- Stacking effects is an effective way for taking down any tanky unit, Charrogs included, as poison and burn in unison can do a lot of chip damage.
- Radiant Heat is much less effective against tanky units, and the effect can be countered by simply splitting units, or healing by a Meric.
