Army commands are commands issued to all of your units through a set of buttons on the game interface. There are three basic army commands: Attack, Defend, and Garrison.

Mechanics[]

Army commands functionally toggle between the corresponding behavior for all units. This also affects units trained after the command was set.

In Stick War II: Order Empire, Stick Empires, and Stick War III, any individual unit commands will take precedence over the current army command, however setting a new army command will override the individual command. User-controlled units are unaffected by the army command, and can be moved freely by the player. Additionally, Giants in Stick War and uncontrollable units (such as Summoned Deads and Tower Spawn units) do not follow army commands.

Attack Command[]

The Attack command orders all combat units to advance toward the enemy Statue, attacking any enemy units they encounter. If your miners are garrisoned, they will return to work when the Attack command is issued.

In Stick War III, issuing an Attack command while your units are in Defend or Garrison will order them to advance toward the Tower instead. Issuing a second Attack command will put them in full Attack, and will order them to advance on the enemy Statue. The Attack button will be green to indicate that the Attack command will send units toward the Tower.

This is also the default behavior for all uncontrollable units, as well as Giants in Stick War.

Defend Command[]

The Defend command orders all combat units to take up defensive positions in front of the Statue and hold position. If your miners are garrisoned, they will return to work when the Defend command is issued.

Defending units will attack any enemy unit that approaches them. If an enemy retreats, they will pursue for a limited distance before returning to defensive positions. As a result of this behavior, Defending melee units will not attempt to retaliate against ranged attackers like Archidons that are outside their detection range.

In Stick War III, issuing a Defend command while your units are on full Attack (attacking the enemy Statue) will order your army to retreat to the Tower. Issuing a second Defend command will order them back to your Statue.

Garrison Command[]

When issued, the Garrison command orders all units you control to retreat into your Castle. Garrisoned units are immediately cured of status conditions upon reaching the Castle, and while garrisoned, they will restore health over time. This will leave the Statue vulnerable to attack.

In Stick War II: Order Empire and Stick Empires, all units can be garrisoned.

In all other games, Castle Units will appear in the Castle depending on the total amount of population garrisoned. The following units cannot be garrisoned, and will treat the command as a Defend command instead:

In Stick War III, the Castle Units granted when units are garrisoned depends on the player's deck faction. If marked as Order, the castle units will be Archidons, and if marked as Chaos, they will be Toxic Deads.

Miner Commands[]

In Stick War II: Order Empire, Stick Empires, and Stick War III, the player has access to a separate set of commands for miners, allowing players to order them to Attack, Mine, and Garrison separately from your combat units. The miner Attack command will cause miners to attack the enemy, similar to the regular Attack command.
