Toxic Deads are a type of Dead in Stick War: Legacy and Stick War III. Similar to the original Dead from Stick War II: Order Empire, the Toxic Dead uses its own body parts as ranged weapons, slinging them at their chosen target and inflicting them with poison.
The Toxic Dead originally appeared as an unplayable enemy but then later became a spell costing 40 Gem, as well as a fully functioning unit in Stick War III.
Appearance[]
Stick War: Legacy[]
Toxic Deads look like regular Deads but are brownish yellow in color.
Stick War III[]
In the older version, the appearance is the same as the usual dead.
In Stick War III, they look like their Stick War: Legacy counterparts. But instead, they are black and wear the same helmet as Castle Archidons along with a broken quiver.
Description[]
Stick War: Legacy[]
While the up-front damage of a Toxic Dead's attack is minimal, the poison usually kicks in and can really do harm when not treated. Low-health units like the Archidon stand no chance against the poison, so on Night 1 your best bet is to prepare for these attacks by creating a phalanx of Speartons early on. Doing so will almost guarantee your Archidons' survival, rendering the poison effects weak compared to a heavily-armored Spearton.
Luckily, Toxic Deads are also very slow, which means that Archidons have little issue hitting them. However, still be wary, especially in later Nights when the Deadkai is introduced, because a drawn-out Archidon will have a hard time dealing with the Toxic Deads.
Stick War III[]
The Toxic Deads have become much more powerful than before, comparable to their Stick Empires counterpart. The Toxic Dead has high health and can poison enemies, but has very low innate DPS and slow speed.
Strategies[]
Uses (Stick War: Legacy)[]
- Make sure to shield your Toxic Deads with Speartons when used as a spell.
- Toxic Deads can be powerful with Archidons.
Countering (Stick War: Legacy)[]
- Using a Spearton phalanx will render the poison almost useless.
- Merics can cure poison.
- Units, particularly Speartons and Giants, with the Vampiric skin essentially render the Toxic Dead useless as it cannot deal poison and it's ranged damage (and melee when crawling) is pitiful.
Uses (Stick War III)[]
- The Toxic Dead's ability to inflict Poison, along with its Dead attribute, make it a natural unit to pair with Rune of Reanimation. Additionally, with it's aforementioned Dead attribute, the enchantment also increases it's health quite a bit, allowing it to survive longer.
- It does bonus damage against heavy units, meaning they can be very strong against Juggerknights and Speartons.
- Toxic Deads pair very well with regular Deads, as each is strong against units the other is weak against. A horde of Deads can stop groups of enemy melee units from fighting your Toxic Deads up close, while Toxic Deads can break through tougher units like Speartons and Giants that regular Deads can struggle at killing while being able to duel Archidons.
Counters (Stick War III)[]
- The Projectile Barrier are a good counter, as their only attack is a projectile one.
- Healing Ward cures the poison inflicted by their attacks, and their low damage per second makes it hard for Toxic Deads to outdamage the healing.
- Toxic Deads cost a considerable amount of Crystals and deal relatively low damage per second, making them weak against early rushes.
- Toxic Deads cannot kite due to their slow speed, and often cannot be retreated when enemies get in melee range.
- Swordwrath (or any other light unit) with Merics are a good counter, as the Merics can provide a barrier and can heal, and the swordwrath do not take bonus damage.
Notes[]
Stick War: Legacy[]
- Toxic Deads are the third Deads to appear in the Endless Deads gamemode.
- Unlike the regular Deads, these Deads have less health than an average Archidon.
- In Stick War: Legacy, Archidons wearing the Undead Skin (or Archidons killed by a user-controlled unit with the skin) will turn into Toxic Deads.
Stick War III[]
- Toxic Deads benefit from the Rune of Reanimation's health increase as they're a Dead unit.
